The president of Kenya Mr.Uhuru Kenyatta had announced
that his government will plan a budget of 10 million us dollarS $ for the cultivation
of Khat (Miraa) in the next year’s
budget.
These farmers
have suffered greatly following the steps of some European countries to ban the
sale of khat, a popular as well as khat, in those states.
Used extensively by people of Somali society and a
very dependable and communities that is living in areas east of Mount Kenya,
among the Meru community.
The
money will be provided through the Ministry of Agriculture.
